Cut several round card board circles together until it makes an appears in a sphere like shape.then stick several toothpicks in it until it looks like a spiky ball.
Cut this and tape it too your spiky ball
Take strips of aluminum foil and twist them into a circle.
Connect several of these links together to make a chain.
Then connect it to the ball and handle and then its done.

Start by cutting the blade. Then cover it in aluminum foil
For the handle cut a long rectangular piece and roll it into a shaft tape it so it will stay together. Tape down the blades and your done.

helmet: This was used to protect the head. The top piece is called a "horsehair plume."
breastplate: This was originally was made to fit exactly to the body, which is why it shows the muscles.
hoplon: Round shields called hoplons were made for close combat. This is modeled after their original design.
xiphos: This type of sword is known as the xiphos. It was mainly used by the Greek Hoplites.
leg armor:
This is Centurion underarmor, which is mainly used in the Centurion outfit, but can also be used in this costume.

These are a few modifications that I have made to improve my Greek armor and weapons in strength, durability, and historical accuracy.
This shield and the shield next to it used to be the same thing until i took one of them, repaired it, removed the inaccurate 2D design, and repainted it.

We made a movie...a big one! It is about 30 minutes long, with 10 minutes of special features. You can see them at the bottom of my costumes post.
As our end-of-the-year project this year, I wrote and created this movie about life during the Revolutionary War. Some of my friends came over and we acted it out. We didn't really use the script, but just made things up as we went along.
When I make costumes, I start with random stuff we find at Goodwill, or cloth I dig out of my mom's sewing cabinet. She got a lot of cloth from her grandma and doesn't let me use some of it. She was really stingy about this red cloth...
I designed and made all of the costumes by myself (except the bonnet). I really like making costumes for history! When I decide to work on a project, I make a big mess! But it's a lot of fun.
I learned how to use the sewing machine last year. Mom has a Singer Simple, and it's really easy to use. I like the straight stitch and zigzag stitch the best. I needed a contrast facing for the jackets, so I cut pieces of cloth and sewed them on to some of my Grandma's old work jackets. It was easier than making the jackets from scratch in only two days.
I finished up the costumes with buttons. It's the little things that really make a good costume! Mom made me sew all the buttons on this time. She said that if I needed thirty buttons, I'd better start sewing. That wasn't very nice...
